Benchmark

The benchmark reaction is something that bowlers have come to expect from Columbia 300 for decades. Columbia 300 has been the bowler's choice for benchmark bowling balls so often throughout history that we decided to finally call the ball what it really is... the Benchmark!

The engineers at Columbia 300 understand that when naming a ball the Benchmark, the performance has to live up to its name. New Standard Reactive provides the perfect amount of traction in order to work on most typical house patterns and a great variety of tournament patterns. One of the four colors poured in the Benchmark is a pearl silver color, making it a Hybrid and creating the right amount of length.
The Columbia 300 Tri-Rib core is symmetric in shape with a medium RG and medium to high Differential. The Tri-Rib core provides the numbers you look for in a Benchmark ball and will work with the widest variation of styles.
The 4000 grit Abralon finish applied to N.S.R. Hybrid along with the Tri-Rib core creates a great amount of mid-lane read and continuation through the backend. The Benchmark will work on most typical league patterns and medium volume tournament patterns.

Nexus f(P) Pearl

Science and bowling have always been connected, but never have they been so perfectly entwined. Introducing the ball with the most length in the history of Brunswick, the Brunswick Nexus f(P) Pearl bowling ball!

ADDPATIVE f(P) PEARL COVERSTOCK

The Addaptive f(P) Pearl coverstock is Brunswick's newest innovation in performance enhancing additive chemistry. f(P) describes our latest formula that combines our new (P)rojection additive with an aggressive reactive coverstock to skid easily down the lane, saving axis rotation for the backend that results in higher entry angles into the pocket and improved ball motion through the pins. Being able to utilize performance enhancing additives in a
coverstock allows Brunswick to effectively fine tune the length, mid-lane and backend characteristics of the ball motion.

NEXUS ARROWHEAD CORE

The new Nexus Arrowhead core features a single density squared-off elliptical inner core that is dynamically designed to stay on line, enhancing downlane projection. This long and sleek core helps the Nexus f(P) preserve revs and ball speed into the backend of the lane which results in increased pin action and higher scores.

BALL MOTION

With its Rough Buff Finish, the Nexus f(P) projects easily through the front, storing axis rotation and revolutions in the mid-lane while gripping the backend for a strong continuous motion that slices through the pins with ease on medium oil lane conditions.

REACTION SETUP

The Nexus f(P) can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for asymmetric bowling balls.

LIGHTWEIGHT ENGINEERING

The unique core shape of each individual ball is used for weights from 14 to 16 pounds. NEXUS ROTOR CORE

The new Nexus Rotor core integrates a center stabilizing capsule and two vertical flip claws. The center stabilizing capsule revs quickly to control the mid-lane. As the axis migrates and the core lays down, the vertical flip claws take over maintaining the rev rate for a strong continuation through the backend and powerful drive through the pins.

BALL MOTION

We did it again! The Nexus f(P+F) is so strong we had to add columns to the Ball Comparison chart and increase our Hook Potential scale to describe this ball. With its 1500-grit Siaair micro pad finish, the Nexus f(P+F) offers our highest hook potential of any Brunswick ball to date. With an extremely aggressive ball motion the Nexus f(P+F) skids through the front, saves axis rotation in the mid-lane and grabs the backend with a strong response to friction.

Shooting Star

The Roto Grip Shooting Star is a great addition to the Shield Line. It has a release date of 10/25/11.

With the phenomenal success of the original Rising Star™, the Shooting Star™ must utilize the new Neutron™ core as the power source. It’s just that good!

The Neutron core’s medium RG- medium differential shape is based on the concept started with the original Photon™ core. But with the Neutron core, you’ll find an even lower radius of gyration (RG) and higher differential in the heavier weights which hooks up heavy on the backend.

To increase the midlane roll and bring an earlier break point, we looked at a few different options. Testing the Ultimate Vision™ coverstock in a solid version produced the desired motion. Prepped with 2000-grit Abralon®, the Shooting Star created a break point that was two feet earlier and more rounded, or smoother. Controlling the pocket is often the key to higher scores.
